Memorial Day Mile Awards

Awards will take place near the Finish Line.

Awards will be presented to the Overall Male and Female and the Overall Masters Male and Female.

Age Group Awards will be given to the top person in each age group:
10 & Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+

Results will be available shortly after the race is concluded at erunner.biz

Memorial Day Mile Race Day Info

Packet Pick Up will be available starting at 8:30 AM on race day at Running Around Screen Printing located at 227 West Van Buren Street Columbia City, IN 46725. This is a Chip Timed race timed by Erunner Timing. Each participant will receive a unisex district-made tank top.

The start of the race will be a block west of packet pick-up located at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Walnut Street. The Race will start promptly after the National Anthem is played at 10:15 AM.

The course will be led by local police and lead vehicle to the finish. There are many cross streets along the course which will be closed during the race.

There will be water/Gatorade as well as other refreshments available at the finish.

Parking will be available throughout Columbia City but we ask that participants refrain from parking along Van Buren Street (Start line/Parade Route). Parking will also be available at the finish line at the Y located at 950 East Van Buren Street.

Memorial Day Mile

Come join us this Memorial Day for a downhill competitive mile that starts downtown Columbia City and finishes at the Whitley County YMCA. The course follows Van Buren Street in a point to point race. The race will kick off the Annual Memorial Day Parade which starts at 10:15AM.

Packet Pick Up will be available starting at 8:30 AM on race day at Running Around Screen Printing located at 227 West Van Buren Street Columbia City, IN 46725.

The Start of the race will be just West of Running Around Screen Printing on Van Buren Street and will run east on Van Buren before finishing by the Whitley Country YMCA. Post race refreshments and awards will be given at the finish line.

Parking will be available throughout Columbia City as well as at the finish at the YMCA, we ask that participants refrain from parking along Van Buren Street (Start line/Parade Route).

The Memorial Day Mile is the RRCA State Championship for 2024.

100% of the profits from the race are added into the Veterans Marathon end of the year donation which will go to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5582 and Whitley County 911 communications.

FAQ

Is this race a Boston Qualifier?
Yes, we are a USATF certified course and Sanctioned Event which makes our event eligible to be used as a Boston Qualifying time.

Is there an Expo?
We do not host a expo event but do a Friday afternoon/evening packet pickup where you will have the opportunity to meet with Race Directors and be welcomed to Downtown Columbia City.

Where does my entry go?
50% of the race profit goes to a Local Veteran Based Organization (2024 profits will be donated to our local Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5582 ). 25% of the race profit goes to our Heroes group (2024 will be our Whitley County 911 communications). The remaining profit is put towards the race for the next year i.e. signing, marathon jackets, marketing.

Where can I find my results?
You can find results either by selecting the results tab or by visiting our timers website, erunner.biz

How do I create a Heroes 5K team?
You can create a team when signing up for the 5k either selecting Join an Existing team or Create a new team on runsignup. You do not have to register the entire team at once. You will need a minimum of 3 runners/walkers to be eligible for any team awards.

Do you offer live tracking?
We do not offer live tracking at the Veterans Marathon at this time.

Where can I pick up my race packet?
Packet pick up will be at Running Around Screen Printing on Friday evening, and the event tent on Saturday Morning located on the Northwest corner of the courthouse lawn in downtown Columbia City. You can pick up your packet from 3:00PM to 8:00PM Friday night or Saturday Morning 6:30 AM till Race time.

Where can I park?
Parking is available throughout the downtown area including street parking and parking lots. The only places we ask people not to park is in any emergency vehicle parking spots (which are labeled such as), any personal driveways or beyond any road close areas.
